We’re still enjoying the height of summer, but fall is around the corner—the kids will be going back to school, the weather will be getting cooler, and spooky season is on its way. If you haven’t thought about installing a fire pit in your backyard yet, now might be the time to consider it. A fire pit might seem like an unusual investment when night temperatures don’t go below 75°F but there are good reasons to get it started now.
Fall is Coming
Summer is winding down and that means it’s time to cram in all of the last-minute summer fun we can before we think about the fall. However, it’s a good idea to start making big plans now—like having a patio fire pit installed. The installation can take anywhere from 3 days to 2 weeks to be completed, so you’ll be glad you planned ahead when the weather starts to cool at night and you want to spend some time around a comforting fire.
Backyard Camping
Where there’s an open fire, there’s an opportunity to make s’mores and enjoy the company of others. If you have kids, this is especially true. A fun aspect of an outdoor fire pit is the opportunity to sit around it with your kids and enjoy some s’mores while you tell jokes and stories. For kids, this can be a delightful addition that elevates a backyard camping experience which they won’t be able to do once fall sets in and the nights become too cold for sleeping outdoors. Sitting around the fire pit while roasting marshmallows and telling scary campfire stories is a great way to enhance any camping experience.
Back to School
This is important, especially for families with children—school is on the horizon, and there will be less time for the family to sit around a fire pit. Kids will get busy with homework and after-school activities, leaving little time for the family to gather around the fire and spend time together. Installing the fire pit early will allow you to take advantage of cooler summer nights and spend extra time with your kids before they head back to classes in the fall.
